Final project using April's SOTM Rose Wonder & a Giveaway!

Hello Friends!

  How are you all doing? Can you believe we have come to the end of another month. April just flew right on by, dontcha think? How is your weekend so far? Ours is a little cool and rainy. I am so looking forward to summer! I live in a shore resort town, so things have started to pick up here. Seasonal businesses are now starting to open and people are coming down getting their homes ready for the summer. I have even smelled some delicious food aromas coming from the restaurant behind me on the bay! So Summer hurry up!!  :)

Okay so moving on,  today I am bringing you the final project using this month's stamp of the month, Rose Wonder and the Rose Garden thinlits. Rose wonder comes from the Occasions catalogue and can be found on my website HERE.  This stamp set is beautiful and I have been having so much fun creating with it! It also has matching thinlit dies too, and for today's project, I used several of the thinlits. You may find the thinlits HERE or if you're like me and like to have stamps with their matching dies, you can also do the bundles. You can find the Rose Wonder and the Rose Garden thinlits Dies Bundle ID#140804 HERE . So here is what I made for you. Cute little gift bags for any occasion!

 I have a few things coming up in which I needed a cute gift bag, Mother's day and a birthday. I decided to pull out Mint Macaron #138337, Whisper White #100730 and The In Color Designer Series Paper #138432 paper & cardstock and my basic black & mint macaron ink pads. So to make the gift bags, I used my Gift Bag punch board #135862. I created the bag by starting off with a piece of 5 1/2" by 11" cardstock and used my medium line. I just LOVE this punch board! I have made many gift bags of various sizes with this board and it has come in handy so many times for giving out little gifts, gift cards and candies. So as you can see, I created two gift bags. One was created using whisper white cardstock as the base and then using some mint macaron cardstock and a piece of "Love Blossoms Designer series paper #140548" for the panels. And just so you know, the Love Blossoms DSP and cardstock are retiring! If you have been wanting this, you should get it while it is still available. This gift bag is going to be for my mother's gift for Mother's day. The second gift bag was used with some mint macaron cardstock as the base and a piece of striped mint macaron & whisper white DSP and will be used to give a gift card for an upcoming birthday. 

  

 

 To embellish each gift bag, I stamped the little flower from the Rose Wonder Stamp set #140697 in mint macaron ink onto some mint macaron cardstock and DSP. I then took the coordinating die from the Rose Garden Thinlits #140619 and cut it out of whisper white. I stamped the same image on top of the die cut flower to give it a little bit of the mint color. Then I stamped the frame in basic black onto whisper white and took the coordinating die and cut it out. For my mother's gift bag, I stamped the sentiment, "What a beautiful blessing you are to me" in mint macaron ink and for the birthday gift bag, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment, also in mint macaron ink. Lastly, I die cut some of the leaf sprigs out of mint macaron cardstock. I took the leaf sprigs and adhered them to the bags first and then added the framed sentiment. Then I popped up the flower and added that to finish off the focal point for my embellished bags. Both sentiments are from the Rose Wonder stamp set and all coordinating dies are from the Rose Garden thinlits dies. To finish off the bags, I punched the holes at the top of the bags,  added some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon for the handles and added some tissue paper inside.  I really hope you like them!

Project #3 Using SOTM Rose Wonder PLUS a chance to win!

Okay today I am bringing you the third project using this month's stamp of the month, Rose Wonder ID#140697. Rose wonder comes from the Occasions catalogue and can be found on my website HERE.  This stamp set is beautiful and I have been having so much fun creating with it! It also has matching thinlit dies too, but I only used one of the thinlits for today's project. You may find the thinlits HERE or if you're like me and like to have stamps with their matching dies, you can also do the bundles. You can find the Rose Wonder and the Rose Garden thinlits Dies Bundle ID#140804 HERE . So here is what I made for you. A set of six cards measuring 4 1/4 by 4 1/4. 

 

 I wanted to go for the monochromatic look so I kept that in mind when creating these cards. I decided to pull out Blackberry Bliss #133642, Delightful Dijon #138327 and Pool Party #126982 cardstock and inks. I started off with a 4 1/4 by 9 inch piece of cardstock and then scored it at 4 1/4 to make really cute 4 1/4 by 4 1/4 sized cards. So to make the cards, I decided to also cut down some Whisper White cardstock #100730 to 3 1/4 by 4 1/4 as I wanted the layer to be the same length of the card base and down in the center. I then took this layer and created my own background paper with the cute little single flower from the Rose Wonder Stamp set #140697 . I inked up the flower in the same ink color as the card base. I also did second generation stamping for this. Basically what that means is that you ink up your stamp and stamp it down, and then immediately stamp it down again to get the lighter color from that second take. I really liked the look that it gave against the crisp white background. Here is a closer look at the second generation stamping. 

 

Also in the Rose Wonder stamp set, comes a cute label stamp which is what you see that I have used to pair up with my sentiments. I did use the thinlit label die to cut out matching color labels to adhere my stamped labels on and I did this by using a couple Dimensionals ID#104430. I ended up using three of the sentiments from this set, "Thank You", "With Sympathy" and "Happy Birthday", each stamped in the same coordinating ink as their card base. So I ended up with two of each card. Here is a look at the inside of the "With Sympathy" card. This sentiment is also from the Rose Wonder stamp set.

Card #2 using SOTM Rose Wonder

Can you believe that we received snow here in NJ today? In APRIL?? I am so ready for spring to be here 100% or better yet, skip straight into the summer! I do not enjoy the cold weather anymore. I would much rather have the sun shining!

For those of you who are new to my blog, let me tell you what I am doing. Each month I will be featuring one stamp set for the month. I will show you how to use these stamps in the way they were intended to be used as well as show you how to use them in ways you wouldn't think to use them. There will also be some giveaways and maybe even a tutorial or two. I will also show you how to mix and match two stamps sets together to make something beautiful :)

  Today I have  card #2 to share with
 you using the Rose Wonder Stamp Set.  The Rose Wonder stamp set comes from the Occasions catalogue and can be found on my website HERE.

  

  

I used some Whisper White cardstock ID#100730 for my card base cut to size 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". My next layer uses some Rose Red cardstock from the Love Blossoms Cardstock pack ID#140549 cut down to size 4" by 5 1/4". My next layer is not Stampin' Up, as I used some cold press watercolor paper by Canson cut down to size 3 3/4" by 5". I really wanted to use the large rose from this stamp set and see how it would look if watercolored. So I stamped it onto the watercolor paper using Basic Black Ink ID#140931.   Next, I used my Kuretake watercolors to do a nice wash of color onto the stamped rose and pulling some of the color out onto more of the paper. I really like the look. Next I stamped the sentiment also from the Rose Wonder stamp set in the lower right corner. To finish the card, I took my Basic Black ink and stamped it onto my craft mat, added my wet brush to make a little watercolor. I then created a few splatters around the card to give it a little more interest. And then I added a few little non Stampin' Up embellishments called "Skittles" which you can find Here, in my friend Carri's shop.

Rose wonder comes from the Occasions catalogue and can be found on my website HERE.  Today I have a card to share with you using the coordinating Rose Garden thinlits Dies ID#140619. You may find the thinlits HERE or if you're like me and like to have stamps with their matching dies, you can also do the bundles. You can find the Rose Wonder and the Rose Garden thinlits Dies Bundle ID#140804 HERE . So here is the card I made for you today.

  

I used some Whisper White cardstock ID#100730 for my card base cut to size 5" by 7". My next layer uses some Basic Black cardstock ID#121045 cut down to size 4 3/4" by 5 3/4". My next layer is some pretty pink/white florals from our Love Blossoms DSP paper stack ID#140548 cut down to size 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". 

I took some Rose Red and Blushing Bride cardstock from our Love Blossoms Cardstock pack ID#140549 to cut out the roses and leaves from the Rose Garden thinlits dies. I cut the roses out 4 times, once in each of these four colors: Rose Red, Blushing Bride, Basic Black & Cucumber Crush. I ended up using the Basic black for my outline. Once all the teeny tiny pieces were cut out, I then assembled the pieces back into the outline, mixing the Rose red & Blushing bride, to get a blended color rose for the bigger rose. For the smaller rose, I used the Rose Red outline and kept all the pieces of the rose in Blushing Bride. I cut the leaves from the Cucumber Crush cardstock ID#138335 and put them back into the outline. The sentiment is just one of the many beautiful sentiments from the Rose Wonder stamp set and I stamped it along with the label stamp onto some whisper white with some Basic Black Ink ID#140931. I then die cut the label using the Rose Garden thinlits dies. To finish my card off, I used the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush ID#141897 over the top of the roses and then added some Crystal Effects ID#101055 over the roses to give it a shine and some sparkle!  That is it my friends!
